NJC soccer coaches to lead youth camp

Aspiring soccer players from 3 years old to eighth grade will have the chance to learn and improve on their skills under the direction of college coaches Sunday, April 28. The City of Holyoke recreation department is hosting the 2019 Holyoke spring youth soccer camp with Northeastern Junior College soccer coaches Keith Buderus and Ken McAlpine at the Holyoke High School practice field.
The Mini-Kickers camp for 3-year-olds through kindergartners will be held 1-2:30 p.m. Participants will learn soccer skills through fun, creative games. The focus will be on finding enjoyment in exercising and playing with friends. Parents are welcome to stay with the little ones.
A Kickers camp for those in grades 1-8 will be held 2:45-5 p.m. Participants will work on technical development, dribbling, passing, shooting, receiving and 1v1 skills. They will have the chance to put skills to practice with small sided games. Volunteer soccer coaches are encouraged to attend to learn new drills that can be used in practices, too.
