No. 2 HHS baseball to face Merino in district tourney
Holyoke High School is seeded No. 2 in the upcoming 2A District 2 baseball tournament in Yuma, after finishing conference competition with a 14-2 record.
District action will begin Friday, May 12, at 9:30 a.m. with No. 1 Sedgwick County (14-2) facing No. 8 Wray (0-16). No. 4 Yuma (12-4) and No. 5 Akron (6-10) play game two at noon. No. 3 Haxtun (12-4) and No. 6 Wiggins (5-11) play Friday at 2:30 p.m., and Holyoke will play No. 7 Merino (5-11) at 5 p.m.
The second round of the single-elimination tournament will begin Saturday, May 13, at 10 a.m., when the winners of game one and two will compete for a place in the championship game.
Winners of Friday’s third and fourth games will play at 12:30 p.m. Saturday for the chance to play in the final game.
The championship game is scheduled for Saturday, May 13, at 3 p.m.
