Nuggets Challenge brings kids from Holyoke, Yuma, Wray

    Holyoke’s second Denver Nuggets Skills Challenge drew 23 kids from Holyoke, Yuma and Wray on Jan. 13 for a test of basketball mettle and the chance to advance on to a statewide competition in March.
    The event was held in the new gym at Holyoke JR/SR High School. Kids participated in timed drills meant to test their dribbling, passing and shooting skills.
    Winners in the boys division were Isaiah Murray, age 6-7; Brandon Adler, 8-9; Brody Sheffield, 10-11; and Angel Ibarra, 12-13.
    Winners in the girls division were Genevieve Koberstein, 6-7; Grace Jones, 8-9; and Taryn Sheffield, 10-11. No girls competed in the 12-13 division.
