Peyton wins state

    Colorado 2A baseball teams finished off the 2019 season in the state tournament Saturday, May 25, and Peyton went home with the title.
    The day began with semifinals. Peyton beat Wiggins 4-1, and Fowler beat Rye 4-2. Wiggins was the only team from District 2, the league in which Holyoke plays, to make it to the final day of competition.
    In the championship game, Peyton shut out Fowler 3-0. It is the first state baseball title in the school’s history, and the Panthers ended the season with a 23-1 record.
