Races usher in July Fourth weekend

American flags in each car in most of the feature events at Phillips County Raceway Friday, July 3, circled the track prior to racing to pay tribute to the United States of America and to kick off the Fourth of July weekend.

It was a great start to the racing weekend, and promoter Joe Bellm said the track just keeps getting better each week at Phillips County Raceway. More temporary lighting was added to further enhance the track, he added.

While weather in the area was stormy that evening, it stayed away from PCR this time to cooperate with the race schedule.

A fireworks show at the end of the evening was stalled a bit due to wind, but eventually a break in the weather let the show go on.
