Register for summer ball by Saturday

    Summertime is almost here, and that means youth baseball, softball, T-ball and machine-pitch. Saturday, May 5, is the last day to register.
    Practices are set to start the week of May 14, and the season will continue through June. The final Border League softball tournament is June 25-26 and baseball June 28-30.
    Teams are divided based on age as of April 30. T-ball is for 5-6-year-olds and machine pitch for 7-8-year-olds. Both are for boys and girls.
    There will be just one girls softball team for athletes ages 9-12. In boys baseball, there will be three teams. Peewee is for ages 9-10, Little League 11-12 and Babe Ruth 13-15.
