Sept. 29 game to benefit mammography program

It’s time to get out those pink shirts, socks, hats, face paint — anything to add to the sea of pink that will be taking over the Holyoke High School gym for the weekend’s Pink Out. On Saturday, Sept. 29, HHS volleyball will dedicate the noon game against Caliche to breast cancer awareness.
Fans can expect to see pink clothing both on and off the court, and everyone is invited to join in the colorful show of support.
In addition to wearing pink to raise awareness, the Pink Out will involve raising money for the Melissa Memorial Hospital mammography department. Money raised through the event allows women in need to get low-cost mammograms. Representatives from the department will be at the game to provide information for the public. They will also be selling Pink Out items to help people get in the spirit and to benefit the program.
The game will also be attended by representatives from the Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation to take Pink Out donations. All funds for the mammography scholarships go through the foundation, so donations can be directed to MMHF, whether at the game or at another time.
