Small teams, big moves in 3-on-3 basketball

Taking advantage of a day off from school, students in second through fourth grade from Holyoke and the surrounding communities had a chance to compete in a 3-on-3 basketball tournament Feb. 17. The City of Holyoke recreation department and the Dragon Booster Club teamed up to host the tournament, which had the Holyoke High School gym buzzing with activity.

HHS athletes served as referees, scorekeepers and, in some cases, coaches. It was a great turnout with very competitive games, recreation director Victoria Dunker said.
