A strong showing of veteran team members is joined by several experienced freshmen to make up a forboding Holyoke High School softball team.

Letterwinners returning for the 2019 season are seniors Shianne Willmon, Lali Marquez, Sarah Razo, Sirissa Cassidy, Lauren Bergner and Victoria Race; juniors Haley Van Overbeke and Rylee Lundgren; and sophomores Lauren Herman and Correy Koellner.

Also on the team are juniors Emali Torres and Rylee Oakley and freshmen Clover Adler, Destanie Engle, Aliyah Engle, Jimena Nuñez, Emma Thompson and Skyler Lundgren. Returning to coach the team are head coach Sherman Kage and assistant coach Kendra Schlachter. Managers are Jessie Owens and Parker Steggs.

Looking at the makeup of the squad, Kage emphasized that there is strong senior leadership as well as a good young freshman class. Among the first-time members are two pitchers and a catcher, adding to the team’s depth.
