Softball to wrap up regular season

The Lady Dragons softball team is nearing the end of the season. For their last two matchups of the regular season, they will travel to Chase County, Nebraska, on Thursday, Sept. 29, for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. Then on Saturday, Oct. 1, Holyoke will play a doubleheader with Yuma County at Yuma at 10 a.m. 

“With the season winding down, we hope the girls have fun this last week of regular season games,” said coach Kendra Schlachter.

“I look for some big hits against Chase County. We have been working on pitch selection and different pitching speeds. With discipline, we should be able to stay on the ball,” said the coach.

She said the game in Yuma will be a battle since it’s the last two regular season games and last league games for the Lady Dragons.

“Yuma County will sneak up on us if we allow. Staying focused and disciplined will be key,” said Schlachter. “Four wins going into our off week and homecoming week would be huge for the girls!”
