Summer baseball, softball schedules announced

Summer baseball and softball has already begun in Holyoke, and schedules have been set for the season. Home games are held at the City Ballpark, with the Holyoke Lions Club providing concessions and burgers for all home games.
The Lions Club also pays for umpires — a major help to new City Rec Director Victoria Timm.
“We’re really lucky,” said Timm. “I don’t think many communities have an organization that would help out like that.”

Baseball
This year, Holyoke has two sets of boys baseball teams — Holyoke Green with PeeWee (age 9-10), Little League (11-12) and Babe Ruth (13-15) leagues; and Holyoke Gold with Babe Ruth only. As Haxtun has second PeeWee and Little League teams, Holyoke Gold is scheduled with Haxtun 2, but each team will play at their respective home fields for home games.
Starting times for the games are 4:30 p.m. for PeeWee, 6 p.m. for Little League and 7:30 p.m. for Babe Ruth. Please note that all games hosted by Sedgwick County will be played in Ovid.
