Swimmers dive in with good attitude and motivation
Twelve Holyoke girls swim team members anticipate a solid season as they open at Eaton on Friday, Jan. 29.
“I have seen some good come from all of the COVID cancellations,” said coach Aly Brinkema as season practices began last week.
She said that she and coach Adria Colver have both noticed a higher intensity at practices this year than in past years. “The overall attitude and atmosphere is extemely motivating and positive,” Brinkema added.
Ten returning letterwinners are joined by two freshmen to make up this year’s Dragon swim team.
Seniors Rylee Schneller and Haley Van Overbeke have competed in the 3A state swim meet for the past three years.
