Swimmers finish regular season at Eaton
Holyoke High School swim team wrapped up its regular season at Eaton last Tuesday, Jan. 22, with league relays including Eaton, Valley, Estes Park, Skyline and Berthoud.
“It was the perfect ending to an already successful regular season and the best way to enter the next two weeks of championship competition,” coach Aly Brinkema said.
She said the team is ready to start its taper into championships by dropping yards and upping the intensity of its training.
Berthoud won the meet with 276 points, followed by Eaton 196, Valley 186, Skyline 168, Estes Park 148 and Holyoke 128.
Traeli Hutches, Lali Marquez, Rylee Schneller and Haley Van Overbeke took first in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:07.99.
“The final relay of the evening, the 400-yard freestyle relay, was outstanding to watch as Lali, Traeli, Haley and Rylee collectively outswam their league competitors to place first with a new season best time,” Brinkema said.
