Taylor competes in national motocross championship
Hastings High School senior and 17-year-old motocross racer Preston Taylor qualified for the largest amateur motocross race in the world, the 36th annual Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship. The July 31-Aug. 5 event was held at the historic Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
Taylor took on over 22,000 hopefuls from across America to earn one of just 1,482 qualifying positions. Success in the area qualifier in Lakewood at Thunder Valley Raceway led to participation in the regional qualifier at Freestone Raceway at Wortham, Texas, earning a gate position in the National Championship race at Loretta Lynn’s.
