Preston Taylor of Hastings, Nebraska, recently competed at the 37th annual Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, presented by Lucas Oil, July 30-Aug. 4 at Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. He was one of just 1,446 riders to qualify for the largest amateur motocross race in the world.
Taylor was one of 42 to compete in the highly competitive 250 pro class, in which individuals complete three races. He said, “Had a great time at Loretta Lynn’s this year. Went 13-17-34 for 20th overall. I was running 12th in the third moto until I had bike problems. Time to start training for the Monster Cup.”
“The amateur national at Loretta Lynn’s is the best of the best motocrossers in America and around the world,” said Tim Cotter, director of MX Sports. “Just being here makes you an elite racer and a top athlete. A solid finish at Loretta’s would you give you instant national recognition and a possible professional career.”
