Track celebrates banner year

    A banner track season for Holyoke High School was celebrated Tuesday, May 21, at the season-end award program in the HHS auditorium.
    Coach Corey Koberstein presented the awards, acknowledging juniors Taeryn Trumper and Luis Chafino, sophomore Aaron Sierra and freshman Lauren Herman for being honored as All-Conference selections for the season.
    All-Conference picks were based on the first-place finishers at the league meet in Yuma on May 3. Trumper was recognized for the long jump; Chafino, pole vault; Sierra, 300-meter hurdles; and Herman, shot put.
    Additionally, Koberstein recognized state placewinners Emali Torres, Taeryn Trumper, Correy Koellner, Lauren Herman, Emily Jelden, Aaron Sierra and Luis Chafino in individual events; and Jessy Mosqueda, Jacky Mosqueda, Jelden, Koellner and Trumper in relays.
