Track team faces competition in Wray

May 3, the Holyoke Dragons bused to Wray to compete at the LPAA/YWKC League Track Meet. Girls and boys team placements are to be determined. 

Bringing the heat, Max Kleve placed first in the 100-meter dash at 11.63 seconds. Reid Sprague placed third in the 400-meter and Cash Weber placed fifth. Their respective times were 53 and 56.03 seconds. 

In the 800-meter dash, Teagan Martin placed fifth with 2:14.54 minutes. Trying his hand at the 1,600-meter run, he placed sixth. Wyatt Sprague jumped over the 300-meter hurdles in 44.09 seconds and placed fourth. 

In field events, the boys proved victorious. Cash placed third in the long jump at 19 feet, 10.5 inches. Bryson Dirks followed by placing fifth at 19 feet, 4.75 inches. Reid placed second in the triple jump and first in the high jump. His jumps were 39 feet, 2.5 inches for the triple and 5-foot, 9.5 inches for the high jump. Colby Weber placed fifth in the high jump by jumping over the 5 feet, 5.5-inch bar. Due to injuries, the boys relays struggled. However, they still took second place in the 4x200-meter due to Dirks, Cash, Mason Sprague and Reid running the relay in 1:36.68 minutes.

Audrey Talavera placed fifth in the 300-meter hurdles by jumping over all of the hurdles in 53.22 seconds. Elise Krogmeier placed first in the shot put by throwing 34 feet, 11 inches. Talavera raced again in the 4x200-meter relay with Isabelle Kropp, Ellie Kleve and Anessa Colglazier. They all placed fourth in the relay in under two minutes at 1:52.85. Krogmeier and Ellie Kleve switched to the sprint medley. Kropp and Krogmeier ran their first 100-meter dashes and passed the baton to Colglazier, who ran the 200-meter dash, and Talavera, who ran the 400-meter dash. They placed second in this relay at exactly 2:00.28 minutes.
