Tracksters push to qualify

The Holyoke track and field team had another good day of competition Saturday, June 12, in Wiggins.

The tracksters are pushing themselves to better their times and distances in order to land in the top 18 when the qualifiers are announced next week for the 2A state meet June 24-26 in Lakewood.

In Wiggins, the Lady Dragons placed second out of 26 teams with 73 points, and the boys finished fourth out of 23 teams with 48 points.

With three of the best throwers in the state, the Holyoke girls once again dominated the throwing events. Correy Koellner won the shot put, with Lauren Herman and Emali Torres rounding out the top three. Herman claimed first in the discus followed by Koellner in second and Torres in sixth.
