Trumper breaks school jump record

Girls 4x100 sets new meet record in Wray

The Dick Evans Invite in Wray Thursday, April 19, was one for the record books for the Holyoke High School track and field team.
Sophomore Taeryn Trumper had an incredible showing in the long jump. Her jump of 18 feet, 5.75 inches set a new meet record. Unfortunately, the wind was at her back. Another jump by Trumper measuring 17 feet, 6 inches, was not aided by the wind and could be turned in for official state results. It broke the Holyoke school record of 17 feet, 5 inches that Trumper set at last year’s state track meet.
Also breaking the Dick Evans Invite meet record was the girls 4x100 meter relay with a time of :53.42. Relay members included Taeryn Trumper, Jacky Mosqueda, Yeidi Juarez and Taylor Trumper.
Holyoke girls won Thursday’s meet with 118 points out of 14 teams competing.
Dragon boys earned sixth place with 54 points. Burlington finished in first.
Coach Corey Koberstein said it was a really great meet even though it was cold and windy. With such a sporadic spring schedule, the team is simply happy to have a chance to compete.
In addition to Taeryn Trumper’s long jump and the girls 4x100, other top finishers included Taeryn Trumper, 100 and 200 meter dashes; Jillian Hunter, 3200 meter run; and Aaron Sierra; 110 meter hurdles.
