Varsity golfers 5th at Burlington

Competing in the Burlington Tournament on Tuesday, Aug. 17, Holyoke’s boys varsity golfers turned in a 291 to place fifth out of 10 teams.
Coach David Mauler said the weather wasn’t as hot as some of the previous outings and the boys competed hard. “It wasn’t the outcome we were looking for, but there’s always room for improvement,” he added.
Ty Dirks finished seventh overall with his 91, Mason Vernon placed 11th with 96, and Ethan Johnson carded 104 to finish in 21st place. Cooper Goldenstein, the fourth varsity team member, shot 114.
