Volleyball team gains confidence with wins

With wins over Estes Park, Loveland Classical and Weldon Valley at the Brush Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 11, the Lady Dragons gained some confidence as they move forward in the season.

The girls went 3-0 to defeat both Estes Park and Loveland Classical. It took four sets against Weldon Valley, making it a good win for confidence, said coach Michelle Vieselmeyer.

She said the team is starting to find its rotation and the girls are beginning to trust each other.

Holyoke vs. Estes Park

Holyoke opened Saturday’s tourney with a solid 25-9, 25-8, 25-12 win over Estes Park.

Stat leaders included Kristin Vieselmeyer, 16 attacks for eight kills and 17 serves for three aces; Elise Krogmeier, four blocks; Tamara Penzing, 20 digs and seven serve receives; and Elyce Talavera, 25 sets for 15 kill assists.
