Volleyball team is runner-up at tournament
The Lady Dragon volleyball team brought home some hardware after finishing in second place at a tournament at Denver Christian on Saturday, Sept. 10.
In the first game of the day, Holyoke beat Ignacio in three sets: 25-16, 25-17 and 25-19.
Coach Irene Ortega said it was great to face off with a team like Ignacio that they wouldn’t normally see during the regular season.
She said the girls got good playing time, and she pointed out that Audrey Talavera and Elise Krogmeier both had good kills against Ignacio.
Next up was Denver Christian, and the Lady Dragons claimed the win in three sets: 25-23, 25-11 and 25-21.
