Wrestlers eye regionals after success in Eaton

Dragon wrestlers are looking forward to regional tournament action after a successful showing at the Eaton Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 5.

Coach Broc Pelle said Eaton is normally a dualing tournament, but this time, each weight class was broken into three different brackets for round robin competition.

Tyson Mosenteen won three matches and lost one to earn second place in the 145-lb. bracket. Ben Kleve went 3-2 on the day to earn third place at 152 lbs., and Sam Trusty also scored a win to place fourth at 160 lbs.

“Everybody’s been picking up on the small changes we’ve been making,” Pelle said of the wrestlers’ continued improvement. “Everybody looked a lot better this weekend.”

Looking forward to regional action this weekend, Pelle said the wrestlers will continue to make small tweaks and capitalize on the lessons they’ve learned to take them into the postseason.
