Wrestling hosts Burlington in Parents Night event

A nice-size crowd turned out to support the Dragon wrestling team in its only home action of the season Thursday, Jan. 17.
HHS hosted Burlington, and coach Dusty McConnell was sincerely pleased with the community support. “It was good to have a home meet, and we thank everyone for showing up,” McConnell said.
Burlington won the dual, 45-25, primarly due to forfeits. The Dragons gave up four matches where they had no wrestler, while Burlington forfeited one.
In the seven actual matches that were wrestled, the Dragons were 3-4.
Senior Jesus Trejo made a fine showing in his final home appearance as he pinned Austin Gamboa in 0:46 in the 145-lb. match.
Juniors Michael Ramos and Andy Lopez, at 182 and 195 lbs. respectively, both won their matches in pins. Lopez made it a quick 27-second match, while Ramos won in 4:40.
