Youth baseball begins May 16

    Get ready for summer evenings of baseball games, kids playing on the playground and ballpark burgers. The first games of Holyoke’s summer youth baseball season are slated for Wednesday, May 29. In the meantime, practice for peewee, Little League and Babe Ruth teams begins this Thursday.
    Practices before school’s out for the summer will be held May 16, 17, 21 and 23. Peewee will practice at 3:50 p.m., Little League at 4:50 p.m., and Babe Ruth at 5:50 p.m.
    After summer vacation begins, practices will be held Tuesday and Thursday mornings, starting May 28. Peewee will practice at 8 a.m., Little League at 9 a.m., and Babe Ruth at 10 a.m.
