A big sense of community has led college senior Ashley Hajek to a five-week internship at The Holyoke Enterprise that started with this week’s edition of the paper.

They traveled to Channing, Texas, for the Ogallala Commons internship orientation retreat from May 25-26 before returning to Colorado to begin their internships.
Phillips County has a total of seven interns through the Ogallala Commons internship program this summer, more than double the number placed in the county last year.
This is the final week of the 2021 legislative session; by law, legislatures must adjourn by Saturday, June 12, although they are not expected to go much beyond Wednesday, June 9.
On June 23-26, the Phillips County Fairgrounds will be host to Rodeo Bible Camp.
The 2021 Colorado General Assembly is in its final weeks, with an adjournment mandated by law no later than June 12.
