Time taken for remembrance through holiday weekend

One can only imagine the thoughts that run through others’ heads during the private moments spent in a cemetery. Whatever way people choose to remember loved ones — alone or with family, at home or public services, with flowers, prayers or mementos — Memorial Day draws attention to the universal experience of loss. On May 27, Holyoke Cemetery was full of residents and visitors honoring the deceased in their own unique ways. For several, that meant attending the service held at the cemetery gazebo Monday morning. For coverage of the Memorial Day service, click here. — The Holyoke Enterprise | Johnson Publications
