This two-story frame building, hastily constructed as a hotel on the corner of Denver Street and Baxter Avenue in Holyoke’s boom days, served as the first Phillips County Courthouse, from July 19, 1889-September 1904. The building was leased from Wm. Clemmons for a couple years before he sold it to the County for $850 in 1901. George W.
