1938 — The Holyoke school band, under the direction of Earl W. Hornish, received a superior rating in the Class C competition at the annual Rocky Mountain instrumental and choral music festival held in Greeley April 21-23, 1938. The instrumental portion of the festival included a parade and marching competition followed by a massed band concert. Ninety high school and grade school students from Holyoke participated in the Greeley contest. (Source: Phillips County Museum)
