Phillips County High School’s 1947 junior-senior prom was held May 15 at the high school gymnasium. Through the hard work of the junior class and Mr. Logan Price, sponsor, the gymnasium was transformed from an ordinary ball court to a fairyland in green and rose and white, the theme being taken from the school colors, the green dragon on the white background, and the junior and senior class colors. The prom began with the grand march to the music of Lloyd Jensen and his orchestra. Before the lines broke up to dance, Boyce Wernet and Jo Ann Hitt were crowned king and queen of the prom. — Source: Phillips County Museum
