Extreme interest has been shown in this year’s city election in which three candidates will be on the Nov. 3 ballot for the mayoral position and six will be vying for three open council seats.
With a need for new employees and a lack of applicants, members of Holyoke City Council approved a wage increase for new hires in the city’s refuse department at their regular meeting Tuesday, Aug.
