Phillips County’s first high school building was finished in 1912. S.S. Worley donated the land where the school was built, north of where the administration building currently sits, with the stipulation that no dances be held in the school. In 1960, due to reorganization of schools mandated by the state legislature, Phillips County High School officially became Holyoke High School and Phillips County was divided into two districts — Haxtun RE-2J and Holyoke Re-1J. In 1976, the Holyoke school district completed a new million-dollar-plus building which serves as the current high school, with the west wing added on in 1999. — source: Phillips County Museum
