Attendees at the Old Settlers Picnic are pictured on Aug. 17, 1895. A basket dinner was held at the residence of John Y. Eckman, southwest of Paoli, and coffee, ice cream and lemonade were served. According to the Aug. 16, 1895, issue of the State Herald, “The program of the day will consist of music, speaking, bicycle races, baseball, foot races, etc. Holyoke band will furnish the music. Don’t hold a grudge; be thankful; enjoy life

    Getting to know Mary Allen may very well make you want to call your grandparents, but that’s probably a risk she’d consider worth taking.
