This 50-ton crane was brought to Holyoke from Denver the week of Sept. 18, 1966, for the placing of 13 pre-stressed concrete roof slabs on Holyoke’s enclosed swimming pool building. The T beams, though of lighter construction than some, weigh 14 tons each. They were hauled here from Denver on huge trucks. The roof was set in place Sept. 22-23 under the supervision of Knight and Son Construction Co. of Holyoke, general contractor on the swimming pool project. With the placing of the large roof units completed, work on the building will proceed at an accelerated rate. It is hoped that the pool will be ready for use by Thanksgiving. — The Holyoke Enterprise File Photo
