In 1911, Edward Hethcote and George King built the first brick garage in Holyoke, known as The Holyoke Auto Company, pictured at far left. The Buick dealership was located at 215 N. Interocean Ave., where it still stands as Olde Holyoke Square. In 1914, Forrest Hethcote bought out King’s interest in the company and became a partner with his brother, selling Buick cars and Michelin tires until 1918 when he entered the Army. — SOURCE: Phillips County Museum
