First Presbyterian Church of Holyoke was organized Sept. 23, 1893. The cornerstone for a church building was laid May 24, 1901, on the site that First Christian Church now occupies at Interocean Avenue and Furry Street. The church building was remodeled in early 1921 and closed its doors in 1961. The following year, the property was sold to Joel Biddle, who traded it to First Christian Church. The Presbyterian church building was torn down in 1963. — Source: Phillips County Museum
