The Dragons take the field for the second half of Saturday’s 1A state quarterfinal game at Limon. Although the Dragons lost 41-15 and were eliminated from the playoffs, they ended the season with a 5-2 record. Coach Dusty Sprague said he is proud of the way the team handled all the challenges the 2020 season threw at them and the way they continued to battle. — Jessica Cumming
Holyoke Dragon football came to an end this season after a 41-15 loss to the No. 1 Limon Badgers in the state quarterfinals Saturday, Nov. 21. The Dragons ended their season with a 5-2 record.
For the third straight year, the Dragon football team is in the 1A state playoffs which start this weekend.
Playing in winds gusting up to 50 mph at Wiggins on Saturday, Nov. 14, Holyoke’s football team shut out the Rye Thunderbolts 56-0 to end the regular season.
Holyoke didn’t lead until there was less than five minutes left in the fourth quarter, but the Dragon football team kept it close the whole game and led when it counted to beat the Burlington Couga
