|Hats off to Eastern Colorado Transportation Commissioner|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
As a construction material supplier and road building contractor in Eastern Colorado for the past 55 years, our company understands the importance of making sure the limited road improvement dollars are used for the maximum benefit and that Eastern Colorado isn’t forgotten about.
Holyoke area resident and attorney Kim Killin has served on the 11 person Colorado Transportation Commission since being appointed by Governor Owens in January, 2007 to complete the two-year term of the previous commissioner and was re-appointed to a four-year term by Governor Ritter.
As the Eastern Colorado representative, Kim has done a very good job of representing our area and in making sure common sense is used in the resource allocation process within the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The position is demanding monthly or sometimes more frequent trips to Denver, regular conference calls and handling constituent issues in a nine-county area.
Kim is the incoming chairman of the Commission and we along with all of Colorado will benefit by having a person with a business background who understands rural issues at the helm during the difficult financial times. Kim is leading the charge to ensure that the scoping of road projects are appropriate and takes into consideration the financial problems of the state.
Our hats off to Kim Killin for her hard work on the Colorado Transportation Commission and her support of Eastern Colorado. Next time you are in Holyoke, let Kim know you appreciate what she is doing. Or better yet, let Governor Ritter know she needs to be re-appointed.
