JV, C teams defeat Akron PDF Print E-mail

 HHS girls’ basketball JV and C teams both claimed wins over Akron Tuesday, Dec. 16.
 The JV team earned a 42-26 win and the C team won 25-15.  
 The girls are improving in their game and moving into an interesting season. It will be exciting to see what 2009 brings.

 The JV ball game was a close one going into halftime, with the Rams leading by one, 16-15. Holyoke managed to pull ahead in the third scoring 15, while holding the Lady Rams to four. The Dragons kept their lead in the fourth for the win.
 Mallory Bennett was the top scorer with 15, on seven two-pointers and one for one from the line. Also scoring were Laura Gerk 10, Shelby Beavers eight, Heather Duester, Molly Fricke, Kaylee Groshans and Marci Vasa with two apiece and Patricia Adams one.

Holyoke C 25, Akron 15
 Patricia Adams started the C game out strong, scoring all of Holyoke’s seven points in the first quarter to take the lead by one. At halftime the score was tied 7-7. Holyoke dominated in the second half with the home victory of 25-15.   
 Leading scorer for Holyoke was Patricia Adams with nine, Annie Daniel five, Emily Bradley and Chantel Rafert both added four, KrisAnna Ham two and Becca Brandt one.
