HHS girls' JV basketball defeats Merino, Wiggins PDF Print E-mail

Holyoke girls’ jayvee basketball team came back from a two-week break to score two wins in last weekend’s games.

Holyoke JV 33, Merino 29

Traveling to Merino Friday, Jan. 8, HHS girls’ JV won 33-29 over the Rams. Scoring was close, but the Dragons took a three-point lead at halftime and kept up the momentum throughout the game.

Leading scorers for the Dragons were Mallory Bennett and Kaylee Groshans with eight points apiece followed by Heather Duester with six, Erin Vieselmeyer four, Laura Gerk three, Emily Bradley two and Chandler Gerk and Patricia Adams one apiece.


Holyoke JV 29, Wiggins 20

Facing Wiggins at home Saturday, Jan. 9, the Dragons found victory, winning 29-20. Although HHS only led by one point at halftime, they outscored Wiggins 18-10 in the second half for the nine-point win.

Bennett led scoring with 12 points followed by Duester with nine, Groshans four and Annie Daniel and KrisAnna Ham two apiece.
