Jayvee girls’ basketball finished their season with a loss to Akron Thursday, Feb. 17 and a big win over Sedgwick County Friday, Feb. 18.


Holyoke JV 37, Akron 49

On the road in Akron Thursday night, Holyoke JV lost 37-49 to the Rams. Akron built up a big lead in the first half, leading 31-12 at halftime. The Dragons outscored them 25-18 in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to take over the lead.

Maddie King led Dragon scoring with 16 points followed by Marissa Chambers 11, Audi Peña six and Molly Brandt and Jordan Zeiler two apiece.


Holyoke JV 45, Sedgwick County 14

In their last home game, Holyoke walloped Sedgwick County Friday night, taking a huge 45-14 victory. They dominated scoring throughout the game, increasing their advantage to a 31-point lead to finish the game.

King was top scorer with 13 points followed by KrisAnna Ham 10, Erin Vieselmeyer nine, Chambers eight, Peña and Zuri Lopez two apiece and Becca Brandt one.
