|Girls are No. 8 seed in 2A state tournament|

Holyoke earned the No. 8 seed in the class 2A state tournament scheduled March 10-12 in Pueblo. This is the second-consecutive year the girls enter the tournament riding a regional championship.
The Dragons defeated Lyons and Meeker last weekend at Standley Lake High School in Westminster to claim regional champion honors.

The Dragons (9-14) will face a familiar opponent Thursday, March 10 at Massari Arena when they battle No. 1 Sedgwick County (19-3).
The two teams played each other two times during the regular season and once during districts. The Lady Cougars won all three games.
The winner will advance to the semifinals Friday, March 11 and face the winner of No. 4 Evangelical Christian Academy (22-2) and No. 5 Hayden (18-5). The “Final Four” game will be played at 8:30 p.m.
The loser between the Dragons and Cougars will play at 1:15 p.m. Friday, March 11.
The other side of the bracket pits No. 2 Akron (19-4) against No. 7 Sanford (19-4) at 1:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon. The winner will face the victor of No. 3 Rye (21-3) and No. 6 Lutheran Parker (20-3) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The losers will face off at 10:15 a.m. Friday.
The third-place game will be held Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
The consolation game will be played Saturday, March 12 at 11:30 a.m. The class 2A state champ will be crowned at the conclusion of a 7 p.m. game Saturday night.
