Disgen Development Services, LLC is hosting a public information meeting Tuesday, April 12 from 7-9 p.m. at Phillips County Event Center to explain their proposed wind energy project in the area.
Disgen owner and president Dale Osborn as well as Mike Lebow will be at the meeting to explain just what wind energy is, what the project entails and the taxes and environmental issues associated with wind energy.
The $40 million project, Goddard Wind Farm, LLC, will be located about six miles southwest of Holyoke at Goddard Peak and Fiddlers Peak. Plans are in place to have 11 wind turbines in this 19.8 megawatt project.
Osborn said the company has not set a construction date at this point, but it’s possible the wind farm will be built in 2012.
With 25 years of experience in this field, Osborn said he actually investigated this site in northeast Colorado in 1997-98 when searching for the first wind facility in the state.
He urged community members to attend the meeting where he will cover the pros and cons of wind energy in addition to providing up-to-date information on current issues.
