The public is invited to a community Resurrection Sunrise Service planned by the Holyoke Ministerial Alliance. The service will be held at 6:30 a.m. at the HHS football field on Easter Sunday, April 12. Guest speaker for this year’s event will be Pastor Max Hines from the Assembly of God Church. A free will offering will be taken to support the Holyoke Ministerial Alliance Fund and will go to help people in need. The event will be moved to First Baptist Church in Holyoke in the event of poor weather conditions. Assembly of God Holyoke’s Assembly of God Church will have Easter Sunday morning worship and children’s church at 10:30 a.m. Sunday School will be at 9:30 a.m. First Baptist Church First Baptist Church will have Good Friday combined English and Spanish service, April 10 at 7 p.m. Ismael Lopez will be speaking. Translation will be available. Saturday evening, April 11 service will be held at 7 p.m. Resurrection Sunday service will be at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. First Christian Church First Christian Church will have an Easter Cantata Sunday, April 12 at 10:30 a.m. Sunday School will be held at 9:30 a.m. First United Methodist Church On Maundy Thursday, April 9 First United Methodist Church of Holyoke will have a service of foot washing and Holy Communion at 7 p.m. A Good Friday service April 10, at 7 p.m. will follow the Passion of Christ theme. On Easter Sunday the service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Fairfield Covenant Church Fairfield Covenant Church will have Easter breakfast at 8:30 a.m., public invited. Along with a worship service to follow at 10 a.m. Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church will have a Good Friday service at 7:30 p.m. followed by a 12-hour Prayer Vigil. An Easter Sunrise service at 5:45 a.m. will be held at Co. Rd. 54 and Co. Rd. U. Worship will be held at 9:30 a.m., and Sunday School will not be available. St. Patrick’s Catholic Church St. Patrick’s Catholic Church will have Holy Thursday Mass of the Last Supper on April 9 at 7 p.m. and Good Friday Veneration of the Cross and Eucharist on April 10 at 6:30 p.m. Easter Vigil will be Saturday, April 11 at 8 p.m. and Easter Sunday service at 1 p.m. Sunday service will also be held at the Regent Park Nursing Home at 2 p.m. Christ the King Catholic Church Christ the King Catholic Church will have Good Friday Veneration of the Cross and Eucharist on April 10 at noon. Easter Sunday service will be held at 8:30 a.m., with a service at the Haxtun Nursing Home at 3 p.m. St. Paul’s Lutheran churches St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst will have a Maundy Thursday service on April 9 at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday breakfast will be held at 7:45 a.m. followed by worship with communion at 9 a.m. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Venango, Neb. will have a Good Friday service April 10 at 7 p.m. Easter sunrise service with communion will begin at 6:30 a.m., followed by breakfast. Zion Lutheran Church Holyoke’s Zion Lutheran Church will have a Maundy Thursday service with communion April 9 at 7:30 p.m. and a Good Friday service April 10 at 7:30 p.m. Easter morning service with communion will begin at 9:30 a.m. |
