Holyoke’s junior high volleyball team had a busy week last week with three games on the schedule.
Head coach Kelsey Reimink said the girls are working hard and are showing great improvement as the young season progresses.
Monday, Aug. 27 they played host to Yuma. The A team fell in two sets 20-25, 13-25.
The B team lost in two sets 11-25, 23-25. Holyoke’s C team came through with a win 17-25, 25-17, 18-16.
Tuesday, Aug. 28 the team was host to Haxtun for A, B and C games. The A team fell in two sets 19-25, 14-25. The B team lost 15-25, 24-26 and the C team fell 15-25, 25-22, 12-15.
Thursday, Aug. 30 the team traveled to St. Francis, Kan. to face the Indians. Only the A and B teams played. Both teams walked away with wins.
The A team won 25-9, 25-12 while the B team won 28-30, 25-17, 15-7.
Coach Scott Dille said he has been very pleased with the effort from the girls to this point of the season.
Holyoke is scheduled to travel to Sterling Thursday, Sept. 6 for 4 p.m. matches. Saturday, Sept. 8, the team will travel to St. Anthony’s for 9 a.m. games.
