Proceeds from the inaugural Pedal The Plains bicycle tour across the plains of northeastern Colorado event held Sept. 21-23 were awarded to the Denver Community Foundation.
The foundation is a Denver-based nonprofit and they chose to re-grant the funds to nonprofits in northeast Colorado. Rural Solutions was awarded $2,500 during an evening event for participants of Pedal The Plains in Wray on Sept. 21.
On hand to award the funds to Rural Solutions were Colorado Lieutenant Governor Joe Garcia and Elizabeth Norrish from Pedal The Plains.
Rural Solutions, located in Sterling, works to coordinate health and human services, “needs assessment” and program development in 10 counties in northeast Colorado. Rural Solutions collaborates to address issues and create positive solutions for the health and well-being of our diverse communities.
