|HHS gym to go pink Oct. 13|
|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
In recognition of breast cancer awareness month, Holyoke volleyball players have challenged their fans to pink out the HHS gymnasium Saturday, Oct. 13 when they face Burlington.
HHS senior volleyball player Lindsay Helgoth is spearheading the Pink Out game—the third annual event for the Holyoke volleyball team.
The vision is to have the crowd all decked out in pink. Volleyball players will be wearing pink jerseys when they face the Cougars Saturday afternoon.
Cancer survivors will be honored at Saturday’s volleyball game. Any breast cancer survivor planning to attend the game should call Helgoth at 854-2828 or 580-7039 or the school at 854-2284 to give them the heads-up.
Saturday, autographed team balls and other items will be available in a silent auction, and a bake sale will be held.
Proceeds from the silent auction and bake sale will stay local and go to Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation to assist with funding for mammograms or other breast cancer prevention.
Saturday’s Pink Out games are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in Holyoke.
