|Written by Holyoke Enterprise|
Fair time is just around the corner, and everyone is getting fair animals ready. The Golden Plains Area Extension is putting on a Small Animal Clinic to help the exhibitors have more success at raising their small animal 4-H projects.
The clinic will take place on Saturday, June 13 at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Akron. This will be a fun experience while learning great knowledge and ideas.
During this clinic, 4-H exhibitors will get many useful ideas and tools to help them have healthy and successful projects. This training will include housing, feed, health care and training as well as fitting and showing, judging, record keeping and so much more.
There will be two tracks during the clinic. On one track, Ed Anderson will be advising poultry and rabbits exhibitors. On the other track, Andrew Fritzler will be advising the sheep and meat goat exhibitors.
The Small Animal Clinic will start at 10 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. on June 13. Participants are encouraged to bring one or more project animals, along with their show supplies and equipment to work with in the fitting and showing.
Lunch will be included in the registration fee. Deadline for registration is June 10 at Washington County Extension Office, 181 Birch Avenue, Akron, CO 80720.
