|Jr. High boys are B tourney champs|

It was an exciting day for the HJHS boys’ basketball team Saturday, Dec. 6 as the Dragons won the B Tournament championship by defeating Haxtun 31-25.
In the first round Saturday, Holyoke dominated St. Anthony’s 54-19 and Haxtun defeated Sedgwick County 40-28.
St. Anthony’s won the consolation game against Sedgwick County 36-33.
Holyoke 54, St. Anthony’s 19
Dragons clearly dominated throughout their 54-19 first game win. They started out strong in the first quarter, leading by 14 and remained strong for the rest of the game.
Leading the Holyoke team was Logan Tharp with 12 points, including three two-pointers and two three-pointers. Zack Roll picked up 10 points, including two for two from the line.
Carlos Diaz added seven, Trevor Dalton, Mathew Golden, Ryan Parker and Tanner Smith all had four, Ryan Krogmeier three and Bradley Coyne, Saul Ramos and Jacob Vasa all had two.
Holyoke 31, Haxtun 25
In the championship game, both teams played hard to keep the game a close one. Holyoke trailed Haxtun 3-4 going into the second quarter. Tharp put the team on the scoreboard when he sank a three-pointer at the first quarter buzzer.
At the end of the first half, the score was tied at 8-8, but Holyoke pulled ahead in the second half. The Dragons scored 11 in the third and six in the fourth, ending the game with a six-point win, 31-25.
Top scorer for the game was Tharp with 11, including two three-pointers. Dalton scored seven, Ramos six, Coyne, Golden and Diaz, two each and Smith one.
HJHS boys played at Madrid, Neb. Tuesday, Dec. 9 with results to appear in next week’s Enterprise.An A Team Tournament is set for Saturday, Dec. 13 at St. Anthony’s.
