Challengers 4-H Club
The Challengers 4-H Club held their annual canned foods drive Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, prior to their first meeting of the year. The community was most generous, as always, and loads of canned good were donated to the local food pantries for those in need.
The meeting was led by vice president Austin Herman, who also led the Pledge of Allegiance and 4-H Pledge. Sixteen members answered the question, “What was the most unusual canned food item you picked up today?”
Secretary Josie Herman read the minutes from the previous meeting. Treasurer Anna Jelden gave a treasurer’s report. Both were accepted as read. In addition, a letter was read from the Zion Lutheran Church inviting the club to participate in the Adopt-a-Family project.
Luke Stewart gave a report on the canned food drive, and the Owens family reminded the club of the Christmas party scheduled for Dec. 1 after going Christmas caroling to shut-ins.
